Tutors – need more College Prep and College Counselor recommendations
I update the tutor list as frequently as possible so if you know someone who should be added to the list please email me and I’ll make updates again soon.
Meanwhile I have received several inquiries about needing help for students who are applying to college. The application process has changed tremendously since I was applying to college in the late eighties! The inquiries from Aha! parents range from college counselor recommendations, help with writing essays and filling out applications, SAT and ACT Tutor suggestions etc.
Please email me or comment on the website post if you have any helpful information to share regarding anything to do with the college application scene! I’m either going to make a new list or simply add to the tutor list since many of these type recommendations are already on the updated tutor list! It all depends on what you share with me!!

This is information that I received recently from Brian at Edison Prep, one of the college prep services listed. My daughter Olivia, who is a current DHS senior, took their SAT prep class last spring and we were very please with the results. Brian and Silvia take a personal interest in their students and were wonderful to work with.

1. Our New, More Convenient Office: As of January 22nd, we have new office space right at I-285 & 400. We took parents’ requests for a location closer to Dunwoody/Sandy Springs/Buckhead to heart. The new location is at 5825 Glenridge Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30328. Group classes, parents meetings, bootcamps and some individual tutoring sessions will take place at the new office.
2. Feb. 2nd Parents Meeting (Free): Our next parents meeting is on Feb. 2nd from 7:00-8:30pm. We provide great information on the PSAT/SAT/ACT and college admissions; the session is ideal for parents of sophomores and juniors. If you are planning on coming, please RSVP since space is limited and so we can have enough handouts. Another parents meeting will take place in May. (More info on the parents meeting is here.)
3. Upcoming Group Classes now enrolling:
SAT Classes – next class begins 1/22, for the March test. (Classes are also enrolling for the May and June tests. Fall 2012 tests will begin in August.)
ACT Bootcamps – the next one prepares for the June 2012 ACT
(NEW!) AP US History Bootcamp – an all-day bootcamp two weeks before the actual exam taught by an AP US History teacher who also grades the exams
(NEW!) SAT II Math IC/IIC Bootcamp – for the SAT Math Subject Tests, taught by Edison Prep’s founders
