American Sniper:   The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History

by Chris Kyle by Harper

I’ll admit, I haven’t read the book but I saw the movie with my husband on the day it was released in theaters.  Bradley Cooper was in a word:  AMAZING.  This movie does an excellent job of giving insight into the day to day activities in the war that our American soldiers face in the middle east.  Chris Kyle is a legend among his peers, and this movie clearly illustrates why.  The movie is rated R for strong and disturbing war violence, and language throughout including some sexual references but I’m going to allow my 16 year old to see it.   I think it will give him a good perspective on the war.

We sent an Aha! Subscriber to the movie before it opened and this is what she wrote to me:

“The movie was fabulous yet so sad.  Acting by Bradley was as great as they said it was.  He really had to bulk up for this role.  It’s one that really makes you think about how precious our time here is…..”

If you go see it please notice that there is no music or sound when they roll the credits at the end.  We were in a packed theater and the entire audience was completely silent as the credits rolled on and on.  It was a while before anyone dared to get up and break the mood.
