Audra’s Fitness Blog: My latest goal– Find time for more YOGA!

So.. it has been a full week since our private sessions with Jose ran out.   I’m proud to say that I’ve been to the gym twice anyway!  It’s so hard to find time to go in the summer, especially when your non-driving teen has so many baseball games and practices and you are his personal chauffeur! 

I found that a noon Yoga class is perfect for de-stressing in the middle of the day!  I haven’t done Yoga in YEARS because I was worried I’d re-injure my back.  Now that I’m confident my core is a little stronger thanks to exercising regularly for 6 months,  I’ve done two yoga classes in the last two weeks and am determined to find time to fit in more yoga into my schedule.

Beth and I also went to a 6:15 PM Friday night DUT (daily-ultimate-fitness) class.  Beth loves this class and has gone regularly for several weeks.  Originally she chose this particular class because Jose is the teacher but has come to love this particular time slot because she has family pizza night with NO GUILT afterwards every Friday!    I have had conflicts most Friday nights but went last week and really enjoyed the class.  I was missing Jose so it was great to see what he was like in a group class session.  He was awesome (of course) and very helpful at explaining all of the exercises and how to modify each station depending on personal fitness level.  I’m ashamed to say I particularly enjoyed this class because it made me realize I’m no longer the person in the worst shape in the room!
