BOOK OF THE WEEK:  What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
I drove 5 hours round trip all by myself to visit Leigh  in Birmingham this weekend!  We did a little work and a LOT of relaxing and catching up.   I HATE to drive on I-20 (so many trucks) so I was initially dreading the commute but I discovered that I LOVE listening to podcasts and books on tape!  Before leaving, I downloaded the Audible App and downloaded a free book (first book is free!).   I chose What Alice Forgot at the recommendation of a few friends.   I spent most of the drive listening to podcasts from Passion City Church but for the last two hours of my drive home I became enthralled with What Alice Forgot.  Now I’ve just got to find about 9 more hours to finish listening.  Maybe I’ll make the time to go walk and listen for an hour each day?   The book is soooo good so far!

  1. Liane Moriarty is one of my favorite authors -LOVED What Alice Forgot, as well as Big Little Lies (her newest) and The Husband’s Secret. Very humorous parenting stories, with powerful subject matter below the surface.

  2. I have very much liked all Liane Moriarty books I have read, including this one, The Husband’s Secret and Big Little Lies, which I am listening to on old fashioned CD in my car now. Good to hear about Audible.

  3. I am reading this book right now too. Good so far. I like some of the other books by this author. Big little lies. The husbands secret.

  4. I like audible for a long car drives too. I like to listen to humor shorts, so it doesn’t matter if you finish it or not. David Sedaris’s books are my favorite for car rides. They might be a little too adult for listening to when your kids are in the car. But he is hysterically funny. I just downloaded Amy Poehler’s book Yes Please and it is a good car ride book too.
