From Katie Phillips:

Shaunti Feldhahn is an author, speaker and social researcher who has written many books including “For Women Only” and “For Men Only.” I’m personal friends with Shaunti and do a bit of freelance work for her and she just came out with her newest book called “The Kindness Challenge: Thirty Days to Improve Any Relationship”. I was reading it for work purposes but decided I wanted to try it out to see if I could help improve my relationship with my 7 year old adopted son. We have a tough relationship that stems from his years of trauma and neglect and the fact that I’m the “new” mom, every big feeling he has comes spewing out on me. Of course I don’t want to have that kind of relationship with him but it’s been a rough and tumultuous 3 1/2 years with him. I told Shaunti that if this helped our relationship, honestly it could help ANYONE, ANYWHERE.

The concept of “The Kindness Challenge” is based on years of research and the one common denominator in improving relationship. It came down to kindness. So the challenge for 30 days is quite simple: 1) Do not speak negatively to your person (or ABOUT your person to others). 2) Praise them at least once per day. And 3) Do one act of kindness for them once a day that they will notice. That’s it.

I wanted to give you the heads up that Shaunti is speaking at Dunwoody Baptist Church on Sunday, February 26 from 5:30-7pm. It’s a free event for the community and I really would love to see a lot of people there–it’s going to be great.
