Book of the Week: Lilac Girls

 Lilac Girls is a great book for all ages.   If you are thinking of getting someone a book for a holiday gift, I highly recommend Lilac Girls for your mom, grandmother or daughter.  It is set during and after World War II and told from the perspective of an American woman, a German Woman and a Polish Woman.    I’m amazed that this is the author’s first novel.  It is captivating, harrowing, emotional and courageous.  I absolutely love the American character Caroline Ferriday and was thrilled to learn that she was a real person!    I just found out that the author is living in Atlanta now while working on a pre-quel to Lilac Girls.  I can hardly wait for her to finish!
