AT&T Inc.’s ultra-fast Internet service — gigabit Internet — is coming to Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Milton and Woodstock.

GigaPower has been available to subscribers of AT&T’s U-verse television service in Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Decatur and Newnan since spring 2015.

AT&T’s GigaPower offers Internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. Plans start at $120/month for 1Gbps and $90/month for 100Mbps. Customers can download 25 songs in less than a second, a TV show in three seconds or their favorite HD movie in less than 36 seconds.

Faster Internet connectivity is considered an economic development tool for cities hoping to attract fast-growing technology, financial and medical services companies that consume large amounts of data.
