My uncle Chuck gets credit for referring me to this place.   He is known amongst our family as “Uncle Barbecue” !  My old roommate gave him that name when she realized that he drove all over the south looking for great BBQ and always brought some of the BEST he could find to Auburn tailgate parties!   He told me months ago that we need to try this unbelievable “new” BBQ restaurant that is next to a convenience store on Akers Mill.   My dad (Uncle BBQ’s brother) will drive to four different BBQ joints if we are having a big BBQ party.   He gets ribs at one place, pulled pork at another, brunswick stew at another and sauce at another!   I’m not exaggerating!  I married a BBQ lover and we have raised to BBQ lovin’ boys.  Our family consists of multiple BBQ snobs.    I tell you all of that to admit that we’ve found some BBQ that we like “okay” in Hotlanta but I’ve never been blown away until now!   Read More »

Meanwhile I have received several  inquiries about needing help for students who are applying to college.  The application process has changed tremendously since I was applying to college in the late eighties!  The inquiries from Aha! parents range from college counselor recommendations, help with writing essays and filling out applications,  SAT and ACT Tutor suggestions etc.

Please email me or comment on the website post if you have any helpful information to share regarding anything to do with the college application scene!   I’m either going to make a new list or simply add to the tutor list since many of these type recommendations are already on the updated tutor list!  It all depends on what you share with me!!

I can’t seem to get warm today in my office!   As I’m grabbing some socks to put on it suddenly dawned on my why so many people have been asking me for HVAC recommendations lately!   People are wisely gearing up for the cold!   I asked for recommendations in 2006 (before the Aha! Connection was really the Aha! Connection).   I received several great recommendations and purchased a new HVAC unit back then.   I’ve been very happy with the vendor I chose and they have been fabulous for all of my maintenance visits.

So…I’ve decided it is time for a new list!!  I’ll share my recommendations with you when I publish the list.   Meanwhile I want all of your recommendations so that we can all benefit from each other’s knowledge!   I’m opening the comments forum for you to reply directly to the webposting but if you can’t figure that out then by all means send me an email.    I’ll need as much information as you can provide but here are some basic things that would be nice to know:
