The Georgia State Department of Education conducted a site visit with panel interviews on Monday, September 29. Their goal was to determine if Dunwoody Elementary meets all the requirements for STEM certification including an integrated math and science curriculum.

Yesterday, Wednesday, October 1, Dr. Gilda Lyon from the DOE, called to announce that Dunwoody Elementary had met all the rigorous requirements to become STEM certified.

Dunwoody joins nine other schools with this distinguished honor. There are only two other elementary schools to have previously earned the title, Henderson Mill Elementary and Hightower Elementary. All elementary STEM schools are in DeKalb County.

Thank you to all the parents, teachers and students for earning this prestigious award for our school community!
