Garden Lights Holiday Nights at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Botanical Garden Lights (16 of 16)I’ve been seeing fabulous pictures of this event for 5 years and never taken the time to go check it out.   Well, on Tuesday night I took my parents while they were in town for the holidays.  My Mom is an artist who happens to have an unbelievable green thumb and my Daddy is a very talented amateur photographer.  Needless to say, this was the perfect event for them!  The gardens are gorgeous with or without the lights and Mama said a dozen times that she can’t wait to come back and see the gardens during the day time!  (Good thing I decided to buy a membership!)

Botanical Garden Lights (10 of 16)My boys went with us and we also took Burger Boy’s girlfriend along.  Admittedly the teenagers enjoyed, it but not as much as the adults.   It goes without saying that the lights are gorgeous.   I took the time to put lights on merely one indoor tree and one outdoor tree at my house this year so I know how long the process takes.  Therefore I was amazed at the immense quantity of lights.  The colors are bright and gorgeous.  The music to go along with the shows in each individual garden area is festive and fun.  The weather was warm albeit misty but it was a great night to stroll through the beautiful gardens together.

One thing I didn’t know before we went is that they have little cafes and bars set up throughout the gardens.   Adults are sipping wine, beer and cocktails as they meander through the gardens.  There are also fire-pits with employee supervised s’more cooking.    There are several options for quick bites to eat and we stumbled across The Cafe at Linton’s and wished we had made reservations to dine there inside the gardens.

It is important to note that all the regular tickets state 5:00 PM.   I was worried that we needed to get there by 5 but the time is insignificant unless you by the less expensive Night Light Special.   Click here to learn more about admission prices

I asked everyone in our group about their favorite part of the show….these were the top three faves:

Botanical Garden Lights (15 of 16)
The big beautiful lady with the long lighted hair
Botanical Garden Lights (4 of 16)
The globe (lava lamp looking) light show set to festive holiday music in front of the conservatory…it is absolutely mesmerizing to watch!
Botanical Garden Lights (12 of 16)
The lighted Christmas tree above a circular water fountain. When you look down into the water it gives you the illusion that you are looking into a never- ending lighted tunnel where you might find Alice In Wonderland below!

We had a great family evening at The Garden Lights Holiday Nights!  Enjoy these pictures from my talented father!
