Questions from Subscribers:

  • Anybody know what is going in the outparcel space in front of the Ashford-Dunwoody Wal-Mart?
  • Anybody know why all the huge container things are outside the Orchard Park Kroger in the parking lot?
  • Someone heard rumors of a new consignment shop coming to Georgetown shopping center.  Anyone know the scoop?

  1. The giant containers at the Orchard Park Kroger are for moving in new shelving and displays and to hold some products as they *completely* reorganize the store. Additional in-aisle signage looks like Kroger at Georgetown. However the layout and organization of items is completely different. My husband feels lost in there now and the employees are really “over it”.

  2. I heard that the space near walmart and Spruill gallery will be used to built to build a new Residence Inn hotel.

  3. Re Kroger – Containers. I checked with one of the staff as she was getting into her car and she said they were there for re-shelving, and this was the storage (I guess) for the new shelving. Managers name is Mr Schubert….

  4. I tried Christophe’s to Go this week and liked it a lot, especially for those nights when there’s nothing in the fridge and no interest in going out. All this location does is sell from a spanking clean store front. Their kitchen is in John’s Creek. Heat up the microwave, honey!

  5. Container things at Kroger are supplies. They’re changing out the shelving. Same thing at Orchard Park but they have a sign up to excuse the mess.

  6. Looks like other shoppers have heard something different than me. One of the cashiers at Orchard Park Kroger told me they were renovating and it would be very “swanky”.

  7. Kroger is an absolute mess and reorganizing everything.

Also the QT in “Dunwoody/Gwinnett” border has upgraded and created an in-house cafe/sandwich bar

  8. We were told that a Chinese or Asian restaurant from NYC is going to be moving in. Although a pretty reliable source of info I still consider it speculative.

  9. I saw and talked to the owner of China Garden II today. He said they are closed for renovations to their interior and will open the end of October.
