Success at World Championships For DHS Robotics Team

What a way to cap off a rookie season!
Dunwoody High School’s newest robotics team, WildCat 5e, competed in the FIRST® Robotics Competition World Championships in Houston on April 19-22. It was an amazing experience! The team finished the qualification matches ranked 3rd in our subdivision. We captained the 3rd seeded alliance into the playoffs and made it all the way to the semifinals before losing in a tiebreaker. The team ended the competition as the highest ranked rookie team, ranked 17th out of more than 400 teams that attended. In addition, out of almost 6,000 FRC teams worldwide, WildCat 5e ended the season ranked 56th, the highest ranked rookie team in the world. Only 0.5% of competitors can claim to have succeeded at or above this level.

We are grateful to all of those who believed in us and supported our team. Without the help of generous friends, family, sponsors, local businesses, and community members alike, we would not have been able to afford to compete, and certainly would not have been able to collect the many accolades that we have so graciously been awarded.

This season was only the beginning. There will not be any rest for WildCat 5e, as we will continue to strive for success and hopefully achieve at an even higher level next year. As we prepare for next year’s season, anyone in the community is welcome to contribute or sponsor the team.
