MCLL 12 year old National team competing at Little League State Tournament in Savannah, Ga

The 12 year old National team from Murphey Candler Little League defeated the Milford Park Little league on July 16th to win the District 2 championship. They are currently playing in Savannah, Georgia at the Georgia Little League State Tournament. Saturday they defeated Coastal Little League and Sunday defeated West Point Little League. Kids presented Thank You Plaque to City of Chamblee Public Works Dept for rebuilding train in Huntley Hills Park

Beck (5yrs old) and Boone (3yrs) Heaps of Brookhaven presented a Thank You plaque to two City of Chamblee employees to thank them for rebuilding a train in Huntley Hills Park that had been vandalized and removed from the park a few months back.

9U Dunwoody Tigers win the 2013 SCRA Scorcher Tournament!

The 9U Dunwoody Tigers won the SCRA Scorcher Championship June 15-16 in Woodstock. After 3 grueling pool play games kept the Tigers at the park past midnight on Saturday, they came back as the #1 seed and took home the championship on Father’s Day!

Dunwoody Dragons win Super 6 Tournament

The Super 6 Baseball league of 11u teams on the north side of Atlanta grew to eight teams in its second year this year.  The Dunwoody Dragons tied for regular season champs.   Last weekend,  The Dunwoody Dragons won the tournament championship game held at Oregon Park in Marietta.

Congratulations to the DHS Girls Track team: 2013 5A STATE Track and Field Champions

Individual state placers and champions:

  • Erin Berger 8th in the Pole Vault 8 feet 6 inches.
  • Asya Yavuncu placed 7th in the 400 Meter Dash.
  • Erika Banks 3rd in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.37 and 4th in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 25.03.
  • Alex Cameron is a State Champion in two events: both the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 5:01 and the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 11:10.
