Children’s Bike Rodeo @ Brook Run – need volunteers

We just learned that the lead organization that was to conduct the children’s Bike Rodeo, United HealthCare is not able to. We wanted to conduct this hands-on bicycle safety class open to all children in the Dunwoody area on April 2nd at Brook Run. (See the attached flyer from a Bike Rodeo held in Columbus, GA last year)

If we want to make this happen, we need commitment of about 2-3 dozen volunteers for Saturday, April 2nd from appx 7:30 am – 1 pm. There would also be another 2-hour meeting the prior weekend to practice and go over their responsibilities.

Can you please help me send out the word for volunteers? They would assist in running about six to eight different stations (TBD), as well as overall administration:

1.       Registration and Inspection

2.       Bike and Helmet Fit

3.       Starts and Stops

4.       Scanning

5.       “Rock Dodge”

6.       Demon Driveway

7.       Crazy Crossroads

8.       Putting it All Together

(More complex stations are added based on the child’s age)

If we don’t have commitment of a SIGNIFICANT number of volunteers by the end of the day this Monday, we will not be able to put on the Bike Rodeo.

We are also looking for a SPONSOR to assist with providing awards (e.g.; Ribbons or Printed Certificate), prizes and refreshments.

Sorry for the late notice.

Thanks,
