Are your Oak Trees dying, diseased or being attacked by tiny caterpillars?

Below is a response from the Fulton County Extension Office Forwarded to us by Mrs. Larry Jones.   She and other neighbors were worried about the health of the Oak Trees in our community….

We have been receiving many, many calls about Oak Trees within the last 2-3 weeks throughout Fulton County and other neighboring counties. The experts at UGA say that the issue is due to the infestation of the leafminer pest which causes damage to the leaves but not the tree.

According to UGA, it is more of an aesthetic problem and a nuisance to look at but no cause for worry. I am attaching the documents that were forwarded to all of the Extension Offices for you to read and share with neighbors.
