Audra says….”Don’t Miss Ain’t Too Proud this Week at The Fox Theatre!”

by Audra H. Anders for The Aha! Connection

I was lucky enough to receive tickets to see last night’s Atlanta debut at the Fox Theatre of Ain’t Too Proud The Life and Times of the Temptations.  My husband and I stopped for a quick bite at Vino Venue then headed downtown in the rain for the 7:30 show.  Traffic died down a little while we were eating dinner so it took us about 35 minutes to get there…but only 25 to get home after!  I always park across the street at The Georgian Terrace Parking.  It isn’t cheap ($40 last night) but it feels safe and is definitely close!

Hubby nor I had heard anything about the show so we really had zero expectations!   We were blown away with the talented performers and loved being reminded of all The Temptation’s songs that we loved.

  • My Girl
  • Papa was a Rollin’ Stone
  • I Wish it Would Rain
  • Treat Her Like a Lady
  • Ain’t Too Proud to Beg
  • Just My Imagination
  • Get Ready
  • The Way You Do the Things You Do…
  • and on and on and on..

We were both itching to get up and dance most of the night!

During the 20 minute intermission, I was scouring the Encore Program to learn more about the performers.  Our stand out favorites were:

Harrell Holmes, Jr who played the role of Melvin Franklin AKA Blue.  His bass voice is captivating!   We wanted to hear more and more of Blue!

and Jalen Harris as Eddie Kendricks AKA Corn.  Jalen is a former American Idol season 10 contestant and his voice is amazing!

It is only here for a week…Tuesday through Sunday, March 8-13
