Audra’s Trip to Shoppes of Dunwoody: Breadwinner, Taqueria Los Hermanos, Under the Pecan Tree, and My CBD Store

By Audra Anders for The Aha! Connection

Taqueria Los Hermanos

Today I was lucky enough to have lunch with the leasing agent for Shoppes of Dunwoody at Taqueria Los Hermanos.   The waitstaff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive.  The food was simply delicious…delicioso.    I believe this is the fifth location for this Mexican family who’s great grandmother supplied most of the amazing authentic recipes.    Two of the family owners (Miguel and Gabriella)  checked on our table a few times and offered suggestions.   Lisa ordered chicken tortilla soup and a taco salad.  I had tamales.  I’ll go back.   Maybe even tonight.

On another note they are hiring and taking in person applications. 5500 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road (next to Wasabi House).

Breadwinner

Lisa wouldn’t let me take pictures but gave me a tour!   The inside looks amazing.  I love the tile floor!   The former outdoor patio will be ALL the restaurant’s seating and will be indoor.  I expect that this location will be always PACKED and will be instantly popular.  They’ve raised the roof of the porch and it’s going to fabulous.  There will be lots of prepared foods and soups that you can run in and grab for to-go.   Lisa reports that if all is on schedule they should open at the end of April.  Let’s hope the coronavirus is gone by then!

Under the Pecan Tree

Lisa and I walked over from lunch to visit the owner of Under the Pecan Tree and her beautiful employee, Alaina.  They told us to help the community with their fear of going out shopping, you can call the store and discuss what you want to purchase and then come up and be served curbside for your shopping.  Call them at 678-694-8704, Face-time shop if you want, receive your purchase curbside and in some cases delivery is available.  One of their biggest sellers lately….Unicorn Soap!  Follow them on Instagram and Facebook for shopping ideas.

My CBD Store

Located right next store to Under the Pecan Tree…..I personally never thought I’d ever walk into this store because I really have never even tried to understand CBD.   The owner and his very knowledgeable employee tried to explain it all to me.  They seem to have remedies for lots of ailments.   The way I understand it is that CBD is made from HEMP which has little to no THC.   Marijuana has high levels of THC and little to no CBD.  CBD is the medical abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of the primary active compounds, or cannabinoids, found in cannabis plants. It comes from Cannabis sativa plants such as marijuana and industrial hemp.   Apparently, everything in this store is made from one particular hemp farm in Colorado.  If you want to find out more go to their Facebook page.   They are also hiring.
