Book of the Week: Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate

I’ve decided to give away a hard copy of my latest book of the week!  Comment below if you’d like to win a copy of this amazing book.  We’ll randomly select a winner from all of the comments and announce the lucky recipient on Friday!

This book swept me inside its tale from the very beginning!  For those of you (like me) who enjoy historical fiction, you will love this book.  I had no idea that once upon a time in Tennessee, poor children were secretly stolen from their families and sold to wealthy adoptive parents.  This book is told from the perspective of two women affected by this disgrace…one living in modern day South Carolina and the other, a victim of this notorious real-life scandal back in depression era Memphis, Tennessee.  I haven’t enjoyed a book this much since The Nightingale!

  7. I’ve been waiting for months for this book from the DeKalb Co Library but would really like a copy of my own to share with family members who also enjoy reading.

  8. I’d love to read this (and then pass it on to my neighbors). I always love the books you recommend, Audra!

  9. SO HAPPY you enjoyed it, Audra. It was one of my favorites in the last few months. I think most of you ladies would like it a lot too.

  10. So I’m a gazillionth on the list at the library for this book. I can’t seem to get into the book I am reading now, plus I had to return it before I finished because it was due back to the library, and I’m a rule follower. Both my college kids are home for the summer which is messing up my empty nester fung shui. I’m caring for my daughter’s fish because she won’t. And now I have a cold and it’s 90 degrees outside. I would love to win the book because I could really use the distraction.

  11. Would love to read this so I can recommend it to the book club I started here at my senior living facility

  12. I’d love to win this book for me to read as well as my mom. We share good books. She usually passes them on to me. It would be great for me to give this one to her!
