Book of the Week: Blessed Christmas With The Jesse Tree

By Audra Anders for The Aha! Connection

I was in my attic last night gathering up all of our Christmas decorations and of course what I was looking for was in the very last box I checked.  Alas, today is the first day of advent and I needed to find my Jesse Tree book!   I stumbled upon this book in a pre-school workshop at Peachtree Road UMC in 2002.  I’m not artsy or craftsy so it’s some sort of miracle that I was in that class.   My family has loved this book each year as it starts with creation and weaves readers through God’s perfect plan tracing the special people and events in the Bible that lead to Jesus’ birth.  Every day there is an ornament/symbol from the story that children (or adults) can hang on the Jesse Tree banner.   On December 25th your tree will be full of these symbols that display the true significance of Christmas.

I’m missing the ornament from December 11th so I researched how to order a new one and decided that I should make The Jesse Tree book our “book of the week”.  The amazing sisters who led that workshop I attended in 2002 have an Etsy site where you can buy just the book, the book and the banner with ornaments, or just any missing ornaments.  Click here to go to the Etsy Jesse Tree Shop!
