“The Butterfly and the Violin” and “A Sparrow in Terezin”, both by Kristy Cambron, and “Shadowed by Grace: a story of Monuments Men” by Cara Putman.
All three have been written since 2014.

I happened to think of another author of WWII romance and other romance with military characters — Sarah Sundin.
Also, Ronie Kendig writes military fiction–including some where a dog is the hero (you may have read Robin Hutton’s Sgt Reckless about a horse who won Purple Hearts in the Korean War (true story–nonfiction)).

Recently read “Wild” about the woman who hike the Pacific Coast Trail. Entertaining & I admired her fortitude.
I’ve been meaning to recommend this book to you for a while. It is something a little different from what you usually read, but it is really good.
