Chip Madren Update….Sandy Springs’ Own Iron Man!

promkingI’m proud to call Chip’s Mama, Lea, my friend.  She gave me permission to share this uplifting story with you about her oldest son, Chip, and his newest adventures as Iron Man.  I’m simply going to cut and paste from 11Alive because Jaye Watson does an excellent job with this video update. However, Lea gave me special permission to also share with you that Chip was just named “Prom King” at last week’s Camp Sunshine.  This was 18 year old, Chip’s “senior year” at Camp Sunshine because it serves kids 18 and under.   Isn’t he handsome?

18-year-old Chip Madren nods yes as he begins to stand. Within a few seconds, Chip is walking down the hallway.

It’s a breakthrough that will help Chip regain some of his independence.

“August 17, 2010, Chip was diagnosed with Anaplastic Medulloblastoma, in short bad brain cancer that had spread down his spine.” Chip’s mom Lea explains that the treatment to save her son’s life, cost him everything.  Continue at 11Alive.
