COVID Financial Assistance Fundraiser: Helping our Neighbors in Need

At Winters Chapel United Methodist Church, we have been receiving more and more calls from our neighbors in need of financial assistance due to COVID. While we have long provided a food pantry for this community, rent and bill assistance is not something this little church has ever had the funds to address. But in the face of so much need, we have felt God encouraging us to act. This has led Winters Chapel UMC to start a Go Fund Me fundraiser specifically to raise funds for our community with a priority on helping with rent assistance for those facing eviction. We have set a fundraising goal of $5,000 and to date, we have raised $525; we have already used those funds to help two families with rent and power bills which had fallen into past-due status due to COVID. We only write checks directly to the apartment complex or utility company, and we provide updates to all of our donors on a regular basis. Please help us to help our neighbors in need by considering a donation and help us spread the word: (click here to go to our fundraiser page)
