The Davis Academy is the Top Winning School at the Georgia Independent and Home Schools Regional Technology Fair

The Davis Academy participated in the Georgia Independent and Home Schools Regional Technology Competition on January 21st at Fulton Science Academy. Davis students entered their projects and creations in a variety of categories ranging from Digital Game Design to 3D Modeling, which resulted in eleven First Place Project wins (fourteen first place ribbons due to two team projects), earning Davis Academy the spot of the top winning school at the competition.

“It was inspiring to see the bravery, devotion, and creativity of our students as they designed, built, and presented their projects, all while having fun with 21st century skills. I am proud to share that we had thirty-three projects entered into the competition this year and The Davis Academy placed in 26 categories. The knowledge students have gained from this experience will be of great use in both their educational and professional careers,” said Stacy Brown, The Davis Academy 21st Century Learning Coordinator.

The following First Place winning students will now advance to the State Technology Competition which will take place on March 10th, Davis Academy students will be participating via video submissions: Maggie Deutsch (3D Modeling- 7th & 8th), Amit Rau & Matthew Szabo (Mobile Apps- 7th & 8th), Ori Gal (Digital Photo Production- 7th & 8th), Eran Krug (Graphic Design- 7th & 8th), Noah Diamond (Video Production- 5th & 6th), Sarah Menis (Robotics- 5th & 6th), Micah Kopelman (Digital Photo Production- 5th & 6th), Ben Collins (Digital Game Design- 5th & 6th), Avi Nebel & Josh Weiss (Project Programming- 5th & 6th), Nora Perez- Rubio & Charlie Berss (3D Modeling- 5th & 6th), Raphael Saitowitz (Technology Literacy Challenge- 3rd & 4th). In addition to the First Place winners, The Davis Academy brought home twelve 2nd place ribbons and eleven 3rd place ribbons.
