DHS Fencers Dominate and Qualify for Championships

Dunwoody High School Wildcats wrapped up the regular season earning 4 medals. The women’s team is in 1st place – another record! Lucky number 13 DHS fencers landed in the top 16 places of the men’s and women’s divisions and earned points – a record! The men’s team stepped into 5th place
What was sweeter than senior and women’s captain, Megan Murphy scooping up the gold alongside teammates, senior and team captain, Sara Gelber, and freshman, Josie James, who each earned a bronze. Sophomore, Sam James, bookended his regular season tournaments with gold for the men’s team. At this late date we even upped our best performance list for this season with Megan Murphy, Sara Gelber, Samantha Kasowski, Blake Donovan, Jeffrey Berkowitz, and Honoka Miura all rising above their previous results for the season.
Qualifying for this Saturday’s upcoming Individual Championship on January 25th are: Sam James, Jonathan Kopel, Blake Donovan, Jeffrey Berkowitz, Logan Norris, Gareth Payne, Pratik Patel, Josie James, Megan Murphy, Hannah Soderberg, Sara Gelber, Samantha Kasowski, Taylor Taliaferro, Sydney Hilgert, Honoka Miura, and Ella Rogers.
