DHS Girls Win Second Straight DeKalb County XC Championship

dhs girls xcThe Wildcat Cross Country team had a great day on Tuesday at Druid Hills
MIddle School for the DeKalb County Varsity Championship.  The girls led
things off with another great performance, winning their 2nd straight
DeKalb County Championship (and 4th in the last 5 years), besting
runner-up Lakeside by a score of 27 to 34.  The Wildcats were led by Alex
Cameron, who made history by becoming the first athlete to individually  win four straight DeKalb County Championships.  While Alex has achieved a lot through her illustrious career at Dunwoody, this ranks near the top!   She was followed close behind by teammates Ansley Heavern (3rd), Ellie
Conoley (5th), Callie Dill (8th), and Jennifer Hardister (10th).   Congratulations to the Wildcats as they continue to add to their  championships!

The boys followed with a gutsy performance in one of the most competitive
races ever at the DeKalb County Championships.  The Wildcats finished 3rd
out of 13 teams and were led by Quinton Johnson, who finished 11th
overall.  He was followed closely behind by Cadmiel Velazquez, Blake
Tiede, Benson Ross, and Noah Goldstein.  Congratulations to both teams as they prepare for some big races over the next month.  Go Wildcats!
