DHS Dominates in Tennis Tournament

Congratulations to the JV Boys’ Tennis Team, who dominated their division at the Granger Invitational Tennis Tournament in LaGrange last weekend! The team beat both the Lumpkin County varsity team and the Wheeler County JV team 5-0 in addition to clinching the tournament with a 3-2 win in the final match versus the Union Grove varsity team. Winning players from the tournament include Will Steedman, David Strasberg, Jack Tolk, Alex Wallace, Ethan Halliwell, Reid Metzger, Luke Barrett, Zach Brett, Neil Shah, and Ryan Halligan.

The Varsity Girls also played some amazing tennis last weekend at the Granger Invitational. They dug deep and beat out some very challenging competition from high schools across the state of Georgia, even while battling the bitter cold and snow flurries on Saturday morning.

Girls’ Soccer Update

It was a great Tuesday night for the Varsity Lady Wildcats celebrating their senior night after their 5-0 win against Archer. The Lady Wildcats remain undefeated (7-0) in their region. Seniors scored the 5 goals: S. Holland (3), K. Barrett (1), and in the final 5 seconds, J. Gild headed it in off K. Barrett’s corner kick.

Senior Night was a huge success highlighting the 11 seniors. Students enjoyed the Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches and the Dunwoody Soccer T-shirts that were handed out to the fans during the game. It was an emotional night celebrating our 11 seniors. We will miss them next season!

JV defeated Alpharetta (6-2) and Duluth (3-0) – for their 7th consecutive win, remaining undefeated in region play too.
