DSB Elects New Board of Directors

Dunwoody, Georgia – At its annual meeting on Sunday, January 2, Dunwoody Senior Baseball, Inc. (DSB) elected its new board of directors for 2022.

The board has expanded to 14 members. Stefan Lollar, Chris Miranda, Mary Quarles, Derek Waugh and Richard Wright will join Vince Carozza, Carlton Hamer, Jay Kapp, Shawn Keefe, Peter Keohane, Laurie Smith, Steve Strauss, Jerry Weiner and Jimmy Wood as members of the all-volunteer board.

John Crawford, DSB Chief Operating Officer and 2020 Dick Williams Dunwoody Citizen of the Year Award recipient, and Tom Bass, DSB Chief Baseball Officer, Dunwoody High School Principal and founder of the Dunwoody Diablos travel baseball program, will continue as ex- officio members of the board.

“I’m grateful that so many great people want to give their time to DSB,” said DSB Volunteer President Jay Kapp. “Well over half our board members live in the City of Dunwoody, and all of our board members are people who love baseball, which I believe shows how vibrant the baseball community is in this area.”

Dunwoody Senior Baseball, Inc. (DSB), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has provided organized baseball playing opportunities in Dunwoody, Ga. since 1975. Programs include a middle school league (February-April) for 6th through 8th graders, spring (April-June) and fall (August-October) leagues for ages 13-15 and 15-18, a summer (June-July) wood bat league for ages 18 and up, and year-round travel baseball teams (Dunwoody Diablos) for ages 13 and up. Additionally, DSB hosts clinics and camps, both free and paid, for players and coaches throughout the year. In 2021, DSB leagues, travel teams, clinics and showcases allowed more than 1,800 ball players to participate in the game they love.

More than 90% of DSB’s events are held at the Brook Run Park Baseball Fields in Dunwoody. DSB has a facility usage agreement with the City of Dunwoody that allows the organization to rent field time by the hour.
