Dunwoody and Stone Mountain home to new fun Halloween events

Halloween is right around the corner and in DeKalb County, fun and spooky attractions designed for all ages are in full swing.

Dunwoody will be the place to go for family-friendly Halloween fun this year. On Oct. 25, the city and Dunwoody Homeowners Association are hosting the annual ‘Truck-or-Treat’ event at the last Dunwoody Food Truck Thursday of the year. Participants can come dressed up for Halloween, enjoy dinner and ‘Truck-or-Treating’ at Brook Run Park. The Party ATL Band will also be performing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the lawn beyond the playground. Attendees will be able to enter in a costume contest and prize baskets will be awarded in various categories. On Oct. 27, Boy Scout Troop 477 will bring Dunwoody’s historic Donaldson-Bannister Farm back to life for Halloween from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the newly renovated farm at the corner of Chamblee-Dunwoody and Vermack Roads. This popular annual event will include a kid-friendly ghost tour that begins inside the restored farm house and continues through the gardens. The event also includes a field of games for kids of all ages, fun crafts and campfire s’mores. Also on Oct. 27, the city and B98.5 will host a special Halloween movie featuring Disney’s Coco at 5:30 p.m. at Brook Run Park, 4770 N. Peachtree Road.
