Dunwoody High Principal Message Re: Return to School

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, Superintendent Watson-Harris announced the reopening of schools date.  DeKalb County Schools will reopen for hybrid/in-person learning on the following dates below:

9th grade students will return starting Tuesday, March 9th

10th – 12th  grade students will return starting Monday, March 15th

During January 2021, a Dunwoody HS Student Intent to Return survey was sent to parents/guardians requesting your instructional model option for your child; hybrid or distance/remote. The hybrid groups were formed based on the survey results that were gathered in January.

Groups for students who are participating in hybrid learning will be sent to parents/guardians on March 4th via School Messenger.  It will include which days students who are participating in hybrid learning will report to school for in-person instruction.  For students who will continue with the distance/remote learning model, they will continue learning virtually Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday.

Parents/guardians will have the option to change their learning model choice at the end of the 13.5-week grading interval.  Parents/guardians will notify the local schools during the decision window, March 22 – April 2, 2021.  More information will come when this decision window opens.
