Dunwoody UMC Preschool – High Accolades and Unanimous Re-Accreditation Recommendation!

Dunwoody United Methodist Church Preschool has been educating and nurturing the children of the greater Dunwoody area since 1962. DUMCP strives to maintain the highest standards in early child education as evidenced through the school’s continuous accreditation. It has been a hugely successful year for DUMCP. Not only was in-person learning safely provided all year, DUMCP also passed the 5 year accreditation review with very high accolades! Accreditation is an optional process for a school, but one DUMCP feels is very important in order to make sure excellent standards are maintained and continual improvement is prioritized. Cognia (formerly SACS/AdvancEd) accreditation is based on a set of rigorous research-based standards and evidence-based criteria. The accreditation process examines the whole institution- its policies, programs, practices, learning conditions, and cultural context- to determine how well the parts work together to carry out the school’s vision and meet the needs of every child. After lengthy observations, self-assessments, interviews with stakeholders, surveys, etc., the review team unanimously recommended DUMC Preschool for re-accreditation.
