Everyone is invited to the Dunwoody Garden Club’s 43nd annual card party, luncheon, fashion show, and silent auction on Tuesday, February 18th. It will be held at the same location as in recent years, the Fellowship Hall at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, 1548 Mount Vernon Rd, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $25.00 for a light breakfast and coffee, luncheon salad with beverages, dessert and fashion show featuring collections from Von Maur at Perimeter Mall.
Our silent auction items are donated by local merchants and friends with 100% of the proceeds going to the club’s projects. This is our only fundraiser every year and it allows the Dunwoody Garden Club to continue its many projects to help and beautify Dunwoody and environs.
Look around our community and you will see DGC’s projects including the lovely entrance to Brook Run Park; four benches in the same park remembering the past and providing relaxation; the atrium planter at the Dunwoody Library; the landscaping at the entrance of our library and along the new stone wall and walkway; the new plantings in the Stage Door Players planter; as well as the arbor, benches and landscaping at the new North Woods Pavilion at Dunwoody Nature Center. We have added hundreds of additional daffodil bulbs to our plantings and beautified the entrance to Dunwoody’s hidden gem, Windwood Hollow Park at 4865 Lakeside Drive. The DGC also paid for the flagpole, flag, and plantings for the flag installation at Dunwoody’s new City Hall on Ashford Dunwoody Road.
Through your support, the DGC makes substantial contributions to Dunwoody Nature Center, Dunwoody Preservation Trust cemetery restoration fund, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Garden Club of Georgia, the State Botanical Garden, Atlanta Audubon Society, Oakland Cemetery, Trees Atlanta, I Care Atlanta and local DeKalb Master Gardener projects.
