The Indian Summer Festival in Suches is held the first full weekend of October on the grounds of Woody Gap School, Georgia’s smallest public school, on GA Hwy. 60, between Dahlonegaand Blue Ridge. The weekend-long event includes a car show, crafts, music and dance performances, and family activities. Enjoy performances by elementary students of Woody Gap School, the crowning of the King and Queen, clogging, an auction, Mountain Rangers hand-to-hand combat demonstration, mountain music, and an archery demonstration. Food vendors will feature pork BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, boiled peanuts, cotton candy, fried apple pies, homemade preserves and more. Visit the crafts tents for a variety of handmade items.
