Date(s): Feb 17, 2018
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Saturday, Feb 17, between 1:00 and 4:00pm, Murphey Candler Park Conservancy, Trees Atlanta and WABE will sponsor the quarterly, Volunteer Day dedicated to planting 100 trees in the Northern-most area of the park. The trees are provided through the annual WABE Donor Drive and Trees Atlanta. Murphey Candler Park was selected as an ideal location to expand Metro Atlanta’s forest footprint.
Saturday’s work will involve five primary areas: Prep, Plant, Mulch, Water and Wrap-up
Our Team set-up will allow for individuals, groups, families, and business volunteers to engage in fun and rewarding work within Brookhaven’s largest park and regional gem. There will be plenty of work for young kids, as well. Note that the trail is uneven in parts – wear sturdy shoes. Tools are provided. Students needing documented service hours will have a MCPC Project letter emailed next week.
