We are excited to announce the second breakfast in our series concerning placemaking will feature Tom Walsh, Founding Pricnipal at TSW-Design.  He will discuss the process of transformative projects in the Atlanta metro region including those of Glendwood Park, Vickery, Downtown Woodstock and many more notable projects.  The program will give an overview of these projects as well as their roles in developing and building a culture of placemaking within their communities while bringing ideas to the forefront to help guide discussions for Dunwoody. 

In its most simple form, Placemaking is the process of creating quality places that people want to live, work, play and learn in. As both an overarching idea and a hands-on approach for improving a neighborhood, city, or region, Placemaking inspires people to reimagine and reinvent public and private spaces as the heart of their community – strengthening the connection between people and the places they share. More than just promoting better urban design, Placemaking facilitates creative patterns of use, paying particular attention to the physical, cultural, and social identities that define a place and support its ongoing evolution. Placemaking investments include multi-use trails, parks and greenspace, streetscaping, activating empty lots, creating community events, public art, walkability, gathering places, local retail, wayfinding signage, etc.

The cost to attend is $20 per person or $200 for a reserved table of 8.  Registration includes a delicious breakfast prepared by Maggiano’s Little Italy.  Registration will end two days prior to the event; no walk-ins will be accepted and no refunds will be given.  Payment is required by credit card at the time of registration.
