Ever used Care.com, SitterCity, or Craigslist? I want to hear your stories!

Help me with a nation-wide study of work in the “gig” economy!

I’m a researcher at a non-profit research institute conducting a study on families and workers who’ve used websites and apps like Care.com, SitterCity, Craigslist, and more to look for help caring for children and elderly people, or cleaning homes. I’m doing 1hr interviews to hear about people’s experiences using these sites and services, and I want to hear from you! If you’ve ever looked for work on these sites, I can offer $20 for 1 hour of your time. For families who’ve used these sites to look for caregivers or cleaners, it’s an opportunity to inform public policy, and have your opinion heard in a national conversation about care and the future of work. Interviews will be held either in-person (July 8-12) or by phone, at a time and place that’s convenient for you.

This study is being conducted by me (Julia Ticona, Phd) and the Data & Society Research Institute. We’re based in NYC, and conducting these interviews in cities across the country to understand the changing ways families find care. This study is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

I’d love to hear your stories – the good, the bad, and the ugly! Please get in touch with the following information:

1. What websites and apps you’ve used to look for work or find help.
2. Your preferred contact information

Thank you!
Julia
