Grand opening events set for Murphey Candler Park Open Space and Skyland Park

What better way to celebrate the completion of the latest Brookhaven park open space than with a free movie under the stars! That’s exactly what’s in store for residents on Friday, Sept. 21 as the Murphey Candler Open Space Field, is formally dedicated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 p.m., followed with a showing of the popular family film, Paddington.

Like the legendary phoenix rising from the ashes, the “new” Skyland Park, 2600 Skyland Drive, will officially rejoin the Brookhaven park system with a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. When it opens, Skyland will feature several new amenities that can’t be found anywhere else in the City’s 14-park network, including two sand volleyball courts.
