Update: Alaina has closed the donations because she reached her goal thanks to many generous donors and the Humane Society gave her a great deal on the treatment price! I love happy endings!
Alaina Moncrief and her sister Sophia are very special to me. Their Mama was Foodie Patty and one of my best friends since the mid eighties. The past few times I’ve discussed possible career paths with Alaina, she always indicates that she wants to do something with animals….possibly/probably a veterinarian.
It was no surprise to me when I just received a text asking me to help her raise money for Zeus. On her way to vacation last week she heard about 30 dogs being put down on 7/16 if they weren’t adopted by then. She posted all over social media and begged her older half brother (who lives in Alabama) to drive to Cartersville to rescue/foster at least one dog. Eddie came home with Zeus and fell in love with the full intention of adopting him. Unfortunately, Zeus has heart-worms and apparently the treatment costs well over $1,000.

Thanks to the help of the humane society we were able to greatly reduce the costs of the heart worm treatment so we’ve met our goal!! If there are any leftover funds, they will be donated to the humane society to help other rescues find forever homes! Thank you for all your support❤️
