If you can get a word out after your first bite at Karv Kitchen, it will probably be, DANG, because it is delicious. Karv Kitchen is a fast-casual restaurant inspired by cuisine from “all over the Mediterranean.” At the counter, pick from 4 meat selections: rotisserie chicken, roasted pork, braised lamb shank, or braised beef short rib. Then choose a flavor combination: Greko, Manzo, Fresko, or Horta. I ordered the braised lamb with Manzo, which is peri-peri, kefalotyri cheese, arugula, pickled red onion and radish, served on pita. My husband ordered marinated and roasted pork with Fresco (caper chimi, tomato, cucumber, arugula, pickled onion, and radish). Each meal comes with a side and honestly, they all sound good; anything from braised collards to zucchini and eggplant chips.
Karv is open for dine-in, but on this day, I was taking everything to go. I only mention this because the Karv fries came highly recommended and I was skeptical that they would make it home in peak form, but I took the advice and ordered them. They were still crunchy when we got home and I ate so many that I had to move some from my plate to my husband’s to even out all that I had eaten before he sat down. Both pitas lunches were phenomenal. The staff at Karv is lovely and made excellent suggestions.
If you decide to dine-in, not only can you enjoy their outdoor seating option, but they also offer beer and wine “from Greece, Italy and Spain, as well as local Atlanta microbrews.” There are also several items that I need to try on my next trip to Karv. I’m told that I MUST try the avgolemono soup, which is a homemade Greek soup and apparently Loukoubombs. Loukoubombs are small, fluffy, Greek donuts that come with lemon honey, chopped walnuts, cinnamon or strawberry sauce, white chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries, and almonds or chopped Sokofreta bar with milk chocolate sauce. Right. So, you’ll want to save room for that somehow. I would also check out their family meals that seem really affordable and come with meat, two sides, and a sauce.
Karv is located in Chamblee below the new Keswick Apartments and the parking for Karv is in the parking garage.
