Local private school, Dunwoody Christian School, moves to a new campus!

Dunwoody Christian School (DCS) is opening its doors this fall at a new campus in Dunwoody. DCS first opened in 2018 with just 11 students in grades K through 2 on the campus of Dunwoody Community Church (DCC). Now 3 years later, having outgrown the space at their starter campus, they plan to open this Fall with over 70 students in grades K through 5 as they continue on the path to grow one grade per year until they reach grades K though 12. Through much prayer, an abundance of God’s blessings, and an incredible team of faithful servants, a strategic partnership was formed between Dunwoody Baptist Church (DBC) and DCS.

While still operating as an independent school, DCS will open its doors to students on August 11 at its new home on the incredible 18 acre campus of Dunwoody Baptist Church, located at 1445 Mount Vernon Road. Moving trucks from Bulldog Movers recently packed and moved student desks, chairs, gym equipment, office furniture, and boxes filled with teacher supplies as DCS said goodbye to their original home on the campus of DCC and drove a short 3 miles to their new campus at DBC.

Maxann Wanamaker, DCS principal, stated “We are so grateful for the generosity and welcoming spirit that DCC poured over our school in our foundational years.” DCS Interim Head of School, Marian Chase, stated “It’s such an exciting time to be part of the DCS family. Enrollment is growing, we have been blessed with an incredible team of teachers, and DBC is such a great place to call home. We already feel like family on their campus.”

Dunwoody Christian School is a private covenant Christian school, and currently enrolling students, with a few limited spots remaining for Fall enrollment. Visit their website at www.dunwoodycs.org.
