Discover Dunwoody is gearing up for the second annual Arts & Culture Month with a full fall event lineup! This October, residents and visitors can celebrate the community’s diverse and lively culture through a variety of culinary events, outdoor activities and live performances.
Discover Dunwoody to Host Second Annual Arts & Culture Month this October
Dunwoody, Ga. (September 10, 2019) – Discover the colors of the Dunwoody community during the second-annual Arts & Culture Month, occurring throughout the month of October. The month- long celebration brings together the city’s diverse arts, culture, and nature organizations and their members to inspire and show off the talents and treasures hidden throughout the city.
“We are excited to kick off this year’s event with a new lineup of dynamic events and performances from the city’s talents,” said Katie Williams, Executive Director of Discover Dunwoody. “The city’s newest tradition embodies the arts and culture community with events for the entire family, girl’s night out and foodies. We look forward to hosting everyone throughout the month.”
Throughout October, Dunwoody residents and visitors will have the opportunity to experience numerous special exhibits and activities celebrating the area’s cultural organizations from the Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild, Dunwoody Fine Arts Association, Dunwoody Homeowners Association, Dunwoody Nature Center, Dunwoody Preservation Trust, Dunwoody Woman’s Club, Spruill Center for the Arts, Stage Door Players and the City of Dunwoody. Highlights from the programming include:
- “Instashow” by Spruill Gallery – take an in depth look at how social media is changing our art experience both as artists and viewers, Friday, September 20 through Saturday, October 26
- “Harvest at the Farmhouse” by Dunwoody Preservation Trust – enjoy an intimate farm to table dinner paired with libations and live bluegrass music, Saturday, October 5
- “The Savannah Sipping Society” by Stage Door Players – an impromptu play filled with hilarious misadventures and the occasional liquid refreshment, Friday, September 20 through Sunday, October 13
Dunwoody Arts & Culture Month is celebrated in conjunction with National Arts & Humanities Month, shining an even brighter light on the city’s art and culture assets. This month offers experiences for the whole family and enthusiastic event-goers. Guests are encouraged to immerse themselves into select experiences to celebrate the city’s culture and community.
