Movies of the Week: Thor Ragnarok and Justice League

I love movies and superheroes.  So,  during Thanksgiving week I went to see Justice League one night and Thor Ragnarok the next.  What a fabulous treat!

Which did I like better?  Both were good.  However, 2+ hours of looking at Thor will always win.  Always.  Plus, I love finding movies that I can watch with my teenage boys without steamy sex scenes to embarrass us all.

Here are my highlights:

Justice League…rated PG-13.  Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Includes lots of superheroes (Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman and The Flash.  Aquaman is very easy on the eyes and I had forgotten I loved this character as a little girl.  The Flash was just downright entertaining and funny.  I didn’t remember Cyborg but he was freaky cool and so much more relevant in today’s computer world. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie but recommend watching Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice again before you go.  I wish I had refreshed my memory of the story-line by doing just that.

Thor: Ragnarok….rated PG-13  Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. Hela was super scary.  A surprise appearance by The Hulk was perfection.  Jeff Goldblum was hilarious.   And it’s always fun conversation to debate whether Loki is good or evil….or both!  Oh and I think I said this already but who doesn’t like to look at Chris Hemsworth for 2 hours?
