Phase II of Dunwoody Cares Small Business Grants begins

The Dunwoody City Council has approved a second phase for the Dunwoody Cares Small Business Grant Program. Phase II will continue the program’s goal of providing support to small businesses within the City of Dunwoody through the reimbursement of rent, lease, or mortgage payments.

Phase II is designed to focus on retailers, restaurants and service providers. Eligibility has been expanded to include self-proprietor and new businesses, but some categories included in Phase I are not eligible as part of Phase II.

Eligible Businesses:

 Grant funds can be used to reimburse the cost of rent, lease, or mortgage payments for real property used for business purposes for up to six months (April through September) with a maximum grant award of:

  • $10,000 for businesses with fewer than two (2 FTE) employees;
  • $10,000 for businesses operating less than 1 year prior to March 1, 2020; and
  • $30,000 for businesses with more than two (2 FTE) employees and in business and operating longer than 1 year prior to March 1, 2020.

Phase II does not apply to professional services (including legal, advertising, architects, accountants, financial advisers and institutions, insurance, engineers, and consultants); dental and medical providers; real estate brokerages; and grocery stores.
