Remembering 9/11/01-update with a thanks from my friend Jody

Update from my friend Jody:

Jody Fuller Hey there, Audra! It was really great checking my email today and having all those great messages from so many of your friends. That was really nice. Thanks for doing that for me…..really meant a lot. Hope you all are well. We are just fine here and are now in the home stretch. I see a light at the end of the tunnel…. May God continue to bless you and your family. Have a great day!

I don’t usually post on Saturdays but have been feeling very patriotic today.   My family had dinner with friends last night and we were all discussing “where we were on 9/11”.   On that terrible morning I  was nursing my 31 day old baby wondering what kind of world I’d brought my child into.

The first thing I did this morning was send my girlfriend Jane a birthday greeting and I remembered how sad that her birthday falls on this date.   Then I tried to hang my flag and remembered that my flag pole holder is broken so I need to go buy a new one.   I’m the only girl in a house full of boys so we are naturally watching football today and I was brought to tears by the National Anthem sung by Rascal Flats before the Ohio State vs. Miami game.   Then I remembered my friend from my hometown of Opelika, Alabama,  Jody Fuller.   He is a proud American soldier currently stationed in Iraq.   This is his fourth or fifth time over there….. I can’t keep track and he keeps going back!      Some of you may remember him….we (my friends from my email list)  sent 5 gigantic boxes full of leftover Halloween candy to him and his troops about 4 years ago.   That was in the early days of the Aha! Connection and  I can’t imagine how much candy I could collect these days!   He LOVED the attention and shared candy with all his fellow soldiers!

So……I thought I’d just share a little patriotism with all of you and remind you that if you know a soldier….please email him/her…send him/her a letter….Facebook him/her and thank them for their sacrifices.

If you don’t know any soldiers….feel free to send a note to my friend Jody Fuller….I already did!   He’s also a professional comedian so  he may send you back a greeting that will crack you up!  Here’s his info:
