STAGE DOOR THEATRE PRESENTS: A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Stage Door Theatre is proud to announce their next main stage production: A Christmas Carol

It’s Christmas Eve 1850, and the melancholy Scrooge finds himself alone at home when he sees before him the ghost of Jacob Marley, his long-time friend and business partner who died seven years earlier. Marley warns Scrooge that he will repent, even in death, for all the suffering he has caused others, and he has only one chance to escape his fate.

For this production, Associate Artistic Director Kelly Johnston has transcribed a script directly from the original Dickens text. When asked what is unique about a version so close to the original text, Johnston responded, “The result is a piece that fully embodies the original story and points out how startlingly relevant that story is today. By telling Christmas Carol in Dickens’ own words, we are forced to stop and consider the narrative we are creating in the world around us right now. How much has changed and how much is still the same?”

This production is also collaborating with the Stage Door Performing Arts Academy by including several young actors to be in the ensemble for this production.

Tickets are currently on sale for A Christmas Carol with performances every Friday night (7pm), Saturday night (7pm), and Sunday afternoon (2:30pm) from Dec. 3rd to Dec. 19th.

Tickets are:

$35 for adults

$20 for students (w/ID)

$15 for kids.

Stage Door Theatre is still putting the safety of their patrons, staff, and artists at the forefront by keeping their existing COIVD policy. The full policy can be found on the website, but they have joined the Atlanta theatre trend of mandatory vaccinations or negative tests, mask mandates, and enhanced cleaning procedures.
