Storm Water Lines Currently Being Replaced at Vermack/Womack Intersection

The Public Works Department is paving roads, repairing and replacing storm water structures, building trails, opening and designing parks. This year, the Public Works Department has paved or repaired 12,208 ft of roadway. This past week, the storm water division replaced a severely deteriorated line, running beneath Mt. Vernon Road. Crews worked through the night to finish and reopen the closed lane 24 hours ahead of schedule.

Currently, the Public Works team is replacing deteriorating storm water lines near the intersection of Womack Road & Vermack Road. The majority of the construction work will take place on Vermack Road.Traffic flow will remain open with minimal lane closures. All work is expected to be complete prior to August 11 (the first day of school for DeKalb).  Both lanes of traffic will be maintained on Vermack Road to the best extent possible. There may be limited times the road will be decreased to one lane of travel. Any closures will be limited.

These dates and times are subject to change dependent on weather conditions.

Additional projects are planned throughout 2014. To stay informed on construction progress watch for the city’s regular Construction Update, announcements, and alerts! If you have questions or would like to know more about specific projects you can email Public Works at publicworks@dunwoodyga.gov.
