Travel Tuesday with Danielle: Getaways Closer to Home

by Danielle Garrett of PlanIt Itineraries for The Aha! Connection

Covid has certainly done a number on our vacation plans for 2020!  Even though people are beginning to fly again (about 30% compared to the numbers at this time last year), many are looking for getaways closer to home.  If you are going a little stir crazy and a little embarrassed about your Netflix binging hours (me on both counts), choose a getaway that allows you to enjoy the outdoors and explore the Southeast.  For questions about below options or looking for other options, email planitforu@gmail.com.

  • $$$$ Luxury: Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee (3 hr/45 min from Atlanta)
  • $$$ Luxury: Horse Shoe Farm in Hendersonville, NC (near Asheville, 3 hr/15 min from Atlanta)
  • Moderate: The Inn at Serenbe in Chat Hills, GA (countryside meets the edge of ATL)
  • Economical: Rent a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Camping or renting an RV with Cruise America to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park or Mammoth Cave National Park.
