Troy’s Burger Corner: The Vortex’s Pickle Rick Burger

Hope everyone has been remaining safe and healthy during these tough times! This past week I had dinner at The Vortex in Midtown. This has been a long awaited spot for me considering their 21 and over rule, so safe to say I was a little more excited to try this place than others. Being a huge Rick and Morty fan (adult cartoon show), my eyes were immediately drawn to the “Pickle Rick” burger. The toppings included bacon, whiskey pimento cheese, fried pickles, and house-made “Szechuan sauce”, which tasted a lot like sweet and sour sauce. Not only did this burger contain an hilarious name with witty references to the show in the toppings, it also happened to be delicious. I wasn’t very surprised by this; The Vortex has been known for years for their burgers. They have at least 15 other burger combinations you can try, which I can now say with certainty will be solid. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area, it’s a great place to grab a drink as well. Their original location is in Little 5 Points.
