Truck or Treat returns to Brook Run Park

Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays will close out the 2021 season with a special Halloween theme on October 28.

Dunwoody, GA – October 19, 2021 – Dunwoody Parks and Recreation, Dunwoody Police and the Dunwoody Homeowners Association will return their tradition of hosting Truck or Treat to close out the 2021 season of Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays on October 28. The special event at Brook Run Park will run from 5 to 9 p.m. and feature music from the band “Elton Live The Ultimate Tribute” beginning at 6 p.m.

“Last year, we held a drive-thru event we called the Halloween Spooktacular and enjoyed a strong turnout,” said Dunwoody Parks and Recreation Director Brent Walker. “But we’re excited to return to the tradition of gathering again for great food, music, costumes and treats.”

During the event, Dunwoody Police will give away safety flashers to promote the department’s “See & Be Seen on Halloween” initiative. Kids are encouraged to clip the flasher on their costume on Halloween to make themselves more visible to drivers. Officers will also wear costumes, decorate police vehicles and hand out treats to kids.

“This is a great way to connect with families and demonstrate our commitment to community policing,” said Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan. “We also appreciate the opportunity to share important reminders about Halloween safety.”

The concert will take place on the front field near N. Peachtree Road. The police department’s treat trucks will be located along the edge of the field. Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays is sponsored by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association. It typically runs from May through October, bringing savory and sweet food trucks to Brook Run Park.
