WHAT:            FoodStock 2018: Dunwoody United Methodist Church, in partnership with Rise Against Hunger and Simpsonwood United Methodist Church, will bring together 1,200 community volunteers to assemble 300,000+ dehydrated meals for children in need across the globe. Over the past seven years, the church and community have packaged over 2,100,000 meals. With a successful FoodStock event this year, we will near the 2,500,000 meal mark in our history with Rise Against Hunger. Come be a part of this wonderful event and this historic mark.

Volunteers will form large assembly lines to bag the meals, which are made of rice, soybeans, vegetables and 21 essential vitamins.  The result of this work fills an entire shipping container (20 tons of food). It is shipped immediately to those in need. Rise Against Hunger primarily targets children through school lunch programs but expands to the community it is serving based on need.
