Volunteers invited to help plant trees in Brookhaven Arbor Day event

The City of Brookhaven and Trees Atlanta are hosting an Arbor Day Tree Planting in Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road, on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 9 a.m.

“We encourage the community to come out and celebrate Arbor Day in Brookhaven by rolling up their sleeves and adding to the City’s robust tree canopy,” said Mayor John Ernst. The City Council will also mark Arbor Day by presenting a proclamation at its Feb. 13 meeting.

Volunteers and City officials and staff will plant at least 40 trees and spread mulch at the Feb. 17 event, and should bring work gloves. Registration will start at 8:45 a.m. in the parking lot along Ashford Dunwoody Road.
